Canon EOS 400D

Over the past six months I’ve reviewed nearly all of the current range of entry and mid-level digital SLRs, including the Sony Alpha A100, Canon EOS 30D, Nikon D200, Pentax *ist DL2, Nikon D80, Olympus E-400, Samsung GX 1L and Pentax K100D. This week it’s the long-awaited turn of the Canon EOS 400D (Digital Rebel XTi in the USA). The camera was launched in August last year, and I’m somewhat disappointed that it’s taken this long for Canon to make a review sample available to me, so my apologies to the many readers who have been asking for this review for several months. I hope it’s been worth the wait.
The EOS 400D is up against some very accomplished competition, but it gets off to a running start by being a third-generation product, with a design that has evolved over several years. Physically it is very similar to the 350D, with a lightweight and compact body made of tough polycarbonate plastic over a stainless steel chassis, although it is in fact a completely new body. Build quality is very good, with none of the cheap and flimsy feeling of the 300D. The battery and card hatches have metal hinges, and although the port cover is a rubber plug it fits well and will keep dust at bay.

Canon A570 IS digital camera

The 7.1 megapixel A570 IS digital camera comes with a 4x (35mm-140mm equivalent) zoom lens and Canon's Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that reduces the effects of camera shake. Canon's "lens shift" optical system allows the lens to physically compensate for camera movement, even when that movement is caused by extended telephoto or low-light shooting conditions.

New Canon Camera

After half a year of doubt, I finally cut the chit chat and bought myself a new Canon EOS 400D digital single-lens reflex camera. I want to spent more time in Photography and for that I needed to professionalize a bit. My old camera simply isn’t sufficient anymore, my new Canon will blast me many greater possibilities to enjoy my good old spare time filling activity. It features 10,1 megapixels, 0.2 sec startup time, a lovely fast auto focus and too many other adjustable functions. The lens is a standard kit 18-55mm, perfect enough to start with. And with two gigabytes fast write flash memory it shoots like 3-4 pictures a second! Chkk chkk chkk chkk, the sound is so lovely : ) I’ll keep you posted for any gallery updates. Other than the IXY DIGITAL 810 IS, Canon announced also PowerShot S5 IS digital camera. Canon PowerShot S5 IS is a 8 Megapixel camera with 4x optical zoom, 12x digital zoom, ISO rating up to 1600, a 2.5-inch LCD display.

The Powershot S5 IS can record 640×480 movies at 30fps. It supports PictBridge, ExifPrint, USB.2.0HS(mini-B) and AV-OUT. The S5 IS supprts SD and SDHC memory cards.
